When the lane is defined in such a way that it extends beyond the actual structure, the lane loading points on the lane overhangs may still get connected to the elements on the structure via a long structural connection. This is not desirable behavior and you you can avoid it as follows:
(1) Shorten the lane (this may not always work for skewed supports)
