Overview

The zipped file attached contains three PowerPoint presentations which outline the modeling process for a 2-span PCC-girder bridge with three different foundation types. Presentation topics include the following:

  1. Bent columns supported by a fixed column base (Example2-Two-Equal-Spans-Option1-Final.ppt)

  2. Fixed column base replaced with pile/cap foundation, extending column to solid-element grid at mid-depth of pile cap (Example2-Two-Equal-Spans-Option2-Final.ppt)

  3. Pile/cap foundation with bent column extending only to the top of pile cap, and Joint Constraint, in place of Weld, connecting base of column to solid-element grid at mid-depth of pile cap (Example2-Two-Equal-Spans-Option3-Final.ppt)
