How do I apply non-orthogonal grid lines?

Answer: Non-orthogonal grids are available through Edit > Grid Data. Select the grid system and the option to Convert to General System, then select OK. Grids may then be defined in any direction. Further, once converted, grid lines may be drawn in any direction by using Draw > Line > Change Type of Line to Gridline.

How do I delete dimension lines in ETABS 2013?

Answer: The dimension lines could be deleted in ETABS 2013. Simply, right click on screen and click on “Lock Onscreen Grid System Edit”. Now use left click on mouse and select any grid by clicking on Grid and then hit “delete” button on keyboard.

Why does the Refresh View option not refresh the model image?

Answer: If the Refresh View feature does not function as anticipated, reset the display setting through the process which follows:

  1. Select Options > Enhanced Graphics, then disable the Use Enhanced Graphics option, as shown in Figure 1:


  2. Follow the same process to reactivate the feature. This completes the refresh process.

How do I display grid lines and floor story labels in a wall elevation view?

Answer: To display grids and labels in an elevation view, edit any grid line, change the bottom story to BASE, then select Apply to All, as shown in Figure 2:
