Soil profiles and isolated column footing
Soil profiles and isolated column footing
In the current version of ETABS 2016, soil profiles are used for defining point springs only and have not been implemented yet for area spring stiffness. Below are the steps how to create a point spring based on soil profile and isolated column footing dimension:
1- Define > Spring properties > Soil profiles.. > Add New Soil Profile
2- Define > Spring properties > Isolated Column Footing
3- Define > Spring properties > Point Springs and choose the radio button based on soil profile and footing dimensions
Now assign those point springs to any point location where the isolated footings are located in the model. For additional information, refer to Help > Documentation > Technical Notes > Point Spring Supports from Soil Profiles and Footings.
