LSFORCEHOST is a system environment variable that is used for network licenses to specify location of the license server. Using this variable forces the program to look up the network license on a single license server identified by its IP address or name.

Setting LSFORCEHOST value in Windows XP

Select Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced (tab).

Select Environment Variables, then select System Variables > New.

Enter the information which follows:

Variable name = LSFORCEHOST

Variable value = IP address or name of your license server computer

NOTE: If your network uses dynamic IP addresses, use the Server name instead of the IP address.

Select Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System.

Select Advanced System Settings in the left column, then select Advanced (tab).

Select Environment Variables, then select System Variables > New.

Enter the information which follows:

Variable name = LSFORCEHOST

NOTE: If your network uses dynamic IP addresses, use the Server name instead of the IP address.
