Unsupported member length
Unsupported member length is determined according to the process described in the CSI Steel Frame Design Manual (Help > Documentation > Design > Steel Frame Design > Design Algorithms > Element Unsupported Lengths), and summarized as follows:
CSI Software takes member connectivity, support points, and other non-local design aspects into account when formulating the unsupported length of each individual frame object.
- It is always good idea to ensure that calculated values correspond to those of the design intention. To enable manual entry, an Overwrite option is available through the Steel Stress Check Information menu, shown in Figure 1:
