Recovering corrupted SAP2000 model files
SAP2000 model files of binary format may become corrupted due to:
- Network congestion or connectivity issues when saving to a network location.
- Interference from file indexing or anti-virus software.
Files may be recovered through one of the following methods:
- In binary format, open the model backup file, which is the SBK extension automatically created.
- In text format, import the model backup file, which is the $2K extension automatically created.
Each of these backup files should be located with the SDB file, and should reflect the most recently saved model.
